OIS Summer Professional Workshop:
Hofesh Workshop with Alex Haskins

Join internationally-celebrated artist Alex Haskins for an intimate, week-long workshop.

When: Aug 3-7, 2026, 10:00-3:00, with a 30-minute lunch break

Where: Q7 Studios, 77 East 7th Ave, Vancouver BC

Full Registration: $450 + GST

A payment plan is available. $150 non-refundable deposit and the remaining balance due on the first day of class.


Workshop Description:

In the week we will explore the range of Hofesh Shechter’s movement language diving through improvisation, imagery, play, and tasks to challenge the mind and body. As well, each day will consist of exploring an array of repertoire from the company. 

Throughout the week, the perhaps goal is to connect a series of human emotions and authentic expressions to movement. Arriving at a place where people are fulfilled and touched by letting the bodies go beyond their capacities. 

About Alex Haskins

Alex Haskins was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He began his formal training at The Ailey School and is a graduate of Frank Sinatra School of the Arts and MOVE|NYC|’s Young Professionals Program. He then went on to attend the Juilliard School under the direction of Alicia Graf Mack and Mario Alberto Zambrano. During his time in Juilliard, Alex had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Sonya Tayeh, Ohad Naharin, Norbert de la Cruz III, and more.  In his third year of school, Alex joined the junior company of Hofesh Shechter Company in London, England in January of 2022. He is now a member of Hofesh Shechter Company starting his fourth Season. Currently touring “Theater of Dreams”. He is a National YoungArts Silver Winner in Modern/Contemporary Dance, and a Semifinalist U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts.
