PROGRAMMING & OUTREACH

We believe that supporting the ecosystem of dance amongst our communities is essential for the evolution of the form and artists’ health. Our recent relocation to and operation of Q7 studios in 2021, has transformed us in fundamental ways: creatively and as a facilitator of dance and community development. This space allows us to provide game-changing support through residencies, artistic mentorships, career support programming, and community responsive programming that celebrates and champions diverse dancers, ways and reasons to dance, and creating a cross-pollination between MO students, our artistic activities, and perhaps most significantly, our community programming, connecting and creating new intersections between dance practices, people, and generations.

Access to space is vital for a city’s cultural growth and OIS helps meet this need by opening Q7 free of charge and without the barriers of membership fees and applications, to a wide range of community partners that include artists, crews, and collectives, enabling them to gather in Q7 to create, practice, and teach.

  • Out Innerspace/Q7 Studios has provided us with an environment where creativity can flourish without fear or judgment. Their studio is a community staple, offering a secure, clean, and welcoming space where artists and emerging artists alike can connect, create, move, and learn. Through their generous support, we were able to begin Flow which has become a community hub, welcoming new participants every week with an encouraging, open, and passionate atmosphere. Flow was made possible by their unwavering generosity and operates with low barriers to participation, ensuring that programming remains accessible for everyone involved. Without access to this space, Flow would not have reached the capacity or impact it has today. Their many programs, including Flow, continue to inspire and nurture the artistic spirit within our city. We extend our deepest gratitude to OIS/Q7 Studios for their ongoing generosity and dedication to cultivating a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive community for artists. Flow and the connections it creates, simply would not be possible without them.
