This is a story without a beginning, middle or end. It is a smaller story to a bigger story. He part. She Part. They part… with music, dance and play.
Out Innerspace Dance Theatre is devoted to creating contemporary dance and dance on screen with distinct integrity and artistry. Out Innerspace is determined to be innovative yet accessible, to push beyond traditional aesthetics and forms with unreserved ingenuity. Through research and experimentation Out Innerspace recognizes the importance of challenging our preconceptions of what can be expected, experienced and expounded in contemporary dance. Artistic Directors David Raymond and Tiffany Tregarthen are entering their sixth year of creative partnership. Their contrasting physical forms and backgrounds have inspired their visions and goals. David and Tiffany have created eight short works including four dance-on-screen works and three duets. OPEN THEATRE LAB Drop in anytime between 2-4pm. Out Innerspace welcomes the public to sit in on their creative process as they enter three days of research at the Roundhouse Performance Centre, in preparation for the premiere of their upcoming premiere in October 2010. Tiffany Tregarthen (choreographer) and David Raymond (choreographer/video designer) will be joined by James Proudfoot (lighting designer), Jeff Younger (composer), Connor Moore (assistant video designer) along with dance artists, Alison Denham, Karissa Barry, Tanner Plecas and Lexi Vajda. This is a special opportunity to witness the early creation stages of a new multimedia dance work; composing dance, video, light and sound together into a cohesive form. Presented in partnership with The Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre. New Creation (title TBA) - Full-length Quintet Integrating Out Innerspace's trademark contemporary movement with projections of planetary-like landscapes, Artistic Directors David Raymond and Tiffany Tregarthen create a highly physical, visual art work that explores micro/macro relationships in nature and the body as innovative living, moving environments.
